Completely HONORED to be apart of this beautiful Jeep 'Most Luxurious' Cherokee Commercial. This was a 'full circle' moment. They wanted real designers, real fashion experience and what do you know... My degrees didn't go to waste. The shoot was beautiful, the director was a dream, a bird pooped on me before I walked into the audition, I had FOUR auditions that day and I made it to my call back, late... it was a whole thing and I'm watching this spot so humbled, grateful and blessed. Thanks for sharing this journey with me guys! If you are an artist (in every and any sense of the word) expect to be consumed without payment, desired without deposit, Admired without appreciation, Loved without commitment. There is absolutely not way to place a price on that which you share from the depths of who you are. What you do, you do from a souls yearning to pour out; from a desperate need to feed. You will never get enough likes, enough downloads, enough shares, a contract big enough, an opportunity unique enough, a timeline without delay. Like a car that depreciates the moment it leaves the lot, so is the expiration clock of what you finally produced.     The blog is mainly still active because I genuinely believe that someone is/will/has been inspired by it. When I began acting I quickly learned that it is about 10% of what it actually looks like, lol. I've made a conscious effort since day one to offer 'my' accurate depiction of this business and what it requires.     Recently I was blessed to be in a room with some of the most influential people in the business. I went to an Emmy event and I felt like, African Americans were not only grossly under represented but those who were present, a number of them, were OK with that. Yes, it is official! I suck at blogging; It's to the point where I forget I even have a blog. I'm so sorry because there are some loyal people who actually use to enjoy my post.      Last week I did what God told me to do. I cast my net further. I know it's a vague statement, that's what I thought when God first required me to write it down then to say it out loud.  Hey guys, Happy Monday!! So Pilot season 2017 is over.  As a newer actress, pilot season isn't 'for me' just yet. What I mean by that is, I use pilot season as a time to identify the appetite of the industry along with assessing my immediate and long term goals.  I decided to shoot with the super talented Photos by Jamaal again.  My team weren't requesting shots but I noticed a void in my tools and asked Jamaal to capture some very specific looks for me. Hey Guys,    I wanted to share another actor milestone with you. Taping this show was a full circle moment for me. I'd read this script during a time when I wasn't working, It was so slow for me that I was 'creating' work for myself. I was reading scripts, I was getting on camera daily, I was sowing seeds that only God knew I was sowing and a little over a year later, this was a moment of harvest. I auditioned for the first time for this casting office and for this show, that I'd loved before it ever had a cast attached to it, and I booked and had an opportunity to tell an incredible team of actors how proud and inspired I am by their work. Hey Guys,     I was tempted to make a video about my ' 6th year DREAM-aversary' but I decided to write. I've been writing less for my personal blog as of late but there was a time when blogging was an outlet I desperately needed; Blogging was therapy. Hey Guys,  I'm beyond thrilled to share that my next television appearance will be  Soooo this coming Sunday please check out CSI Cyber on CBS. I play Connie Abbott and my character is introduced within the first few minutes of the episode. So if you're late, you'll miss me ;-) Most importantly when I share news about the 'fruits of my labor' I want so desperately for you to understand that this business is about 3% of what it seems. Hey Guys,  One of my 2015 highlights was creating DUBSMASH videos. Seriously, I can't believe I didn't create this app myself. However, I did create a 'dubsmash compilation' video for some of my favorite and most popular dubsmash, lol. My teeth are crooked, my allergy eyes are consistent but my heart is pure, my work ethic is undeniable and my God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly far above what I can ask or even imagine and HE is doing just that.    For months I labored over where I went wrong; with a particular incident. I was so confused w/ God for months. I mean night after night, I was like "Jesus what's up? I listened. I was obedient, what in the entire world is this foolery about?" I think I got it.   I stopped making good decisions and I started making decisions that other people wanted me to make. I knew who I was, so I didn't think making a decision someone else needed me to make, would actually be a bad decision. It was and as a result I was out of alignment.  It's the 'please place your oxygen mask on first before you try to assist someone else with their oxygen mask' principle.    I got prideful.
