Why Haven't you Answered Me?

I remember some years ago a friend needed a job. Well he made it to church weekly throughout this time of uncertainty and when he received that which he was praying and trusting God for he was there that first week to say thank you, Lord. However, as weeks progressed he couldn’t make it, he was tired, had to work, etc. Imagine for a moment that maybe God hasn’t answered your prayers because if he did you’d stop praying.   Well I heard a sermon about what happens when 97% of ur prayer life changes.   If suddenly your prayers aren’t for healing because you’ve been healed. Of they aren’t for financial stability because money is no longer an issue. How do you go to God when you don’t need anything tangible from him? Or what if the very first time u asked God for something, he was pleased that you knew to ask him for it so he began working on just how to give it to you.   Maybe he wanted to give it to you rite away but you weren’t able to receive it becau...

Jesus was homeless 2

This past week I’ve been to *Panera to use Internet and eat. *The mall because they have air and comfy chairs to read in *Every friends event because I have nowhere else to be  and I’m currently dressed in my Sundays best including a $1,000 pair of shoes and NO place to take em off or even take a nap after church on a Sunday.   Yes, I thought of selling the shoes, the bags, the clothes but God said no. (he only puts on me what I can bare, lol) Humbling but Promising times. I’m so full of his promise that it’s hard to be consumed with my current reality. Btw my reality is,   I’m knocking on 30 w/ two degrees from Berkeley, a resume and skill set that could wrap around the block, yet I’m homeless.   I find God hilarious that he put it on my heart months and months ago to begin feeding the homeless, only for me to find for the first time in my life, I too am now homeless. He is something else. When I started serving on skid row I was dumb fou...

HAPPY 2year Dreamaversary

When I left my job I went through a brief identity crisis. For the first time since 6 th grade I didn’t have a ‘socially acceptable’ job. I couldn’t say I work in the BCBG Showroom in NY,   I’m a DM for medi spa, I run a few of the LA based Free People stores. God sure knows how to humble you, lol. Now, I was an ACTRESS? And I put the question mark there because that’s how I said it.   I had friends saying, what are you going to do? I had family saying, Tommy you ain’t got no job (they still say that) , I would meet someone & they would say but do you have a survival job? and in my own voice I was saying GOD, what is next you know I got these bills ,rite. I had always been the one who was early for work, who left late, who came in on her day off, who you had to make take her vacation time, who called when she was off and now GOD was saying. You did all of those things for them, what if I say I’M YOUR BOSS! You now work for GOD. You don’t have to wait a year f...

I left BMORE 2 BE MORE

I had no idea how selfish I must seem to God. I left Baltimore at 18 years old. Since the time I left I think I’ve probably mentioned 10,000 times the things I gave up to pursue this dream. The relationships I walked away from, The graduations, birthdays, mothers days and parties I miss out on, etc. While I realized early on that Baltimore had nothing to offer me in terms of my career, it’s my home. There are certain things and people you can’t get from anywhere else in the world, but ur home.   Than suddenly you leave and how you remember home to be, changes each time you return.   Baltimore will never be the same. I think when I left I wanted it to stay the same. I wanted my friends to always be there, I wanted the hope and carefree feelings of childhood to remain, I wanted to pick up rite where I left off each time I left and came back… but life keeps going and it took losing a life long friend for me to understand      ...

What Did I do NOW?

When ur hard headed, you have to be prepared to learn lessons the hard way.  Maybe one of my handicaps has actually been what I’d previously prided myself on. Do you guys think you can be friends with an ex? And is that answer contingent upon whether or not their/ur current is an insecure nut ball?  You see I’ve always felt like when an ex crosses the line, than the ex needs to be X’d. However if the split was amicable and both parties understand and respect each other and the person they are becoming individually, How do you then end the friendship because the relationship doesn’t work? You know there are tons of ‘technicalities’ when it comes to this and I could totally play devils advocate. There are so many variables to be considered. I’ve been on each side of this scenario more times than I’d care to have been but what I know rite now is, GOD WANTS ALL OF ME.  PERIOD! It’s almost as if he knows my proclivities, he knows my kind heart, he knows those who have be...

Celebrate those who Celebrate you

This past weekend my nieces were with my Mom. As we all skyp'd I joked with them about how lucky they are to have a GRANDMA like the one they have.  A day later I received mail from AUNT THELMA. God is truly amazing, for everything you 'don't have' he has equipped you with so many things and people to fill the gap. Everyone should have an AUNT THELMA :_) More often than not, I make excuses for people in my life by saying "They don't understand" "You can't support something you don't get" but My AUNT THELMA who lives wayyy in VA. and has most likely never had a desire to be an Actress, doesn't have to understand, to encourage me. When you love someone u encourage, support and become a prayer warrior for their success. Aunt Thelma sends cards for EVERYTHING and I KEEP EM  Thanks Aunt Thelma, for ALWAYS being on time. When I don't realize I need an Aunt Thelma card, they come and ALWAYS make me cry, lol. YOU are the standard ...
